Asset Recovery Group locates and recovers foreclosure overages (surplus funds) on behalf of individuals, companies, trusts and estates. We’re family-owned and operated, with a legal team that has extensive experience in these exact types of cases in multiple states across the country.
We’ve helped countless families recover funds from the loss of their home due to foreclosure, whether it was from unpaid property taxes, delinquent mortgage payments, HOA fees, or other situations. And yes, we are accredited by the Better Business Bureau for added peace of mind.
Our company was founded with one thing in mind: helping people.
We see no reason for the government to keep money that is rightfully yours. If those funds aren’t claimed, many times the government will just absorb it into their general fund. Some states have limits on how long funds can be claimed after a foreclosure, making it crucial to begin the recovery process as soon as possible. Most of the people we work with are taken by surprise when we initially contact them. They had no idea funds were being held, or that they had a legal right to claim the funds. In some cases, the people we help turn out to be the heirs of the person who lost the property to foreclosure.
Not many people know the laws of heirship, let alone the laws about foreclosure surplus funds, which makes it all sound too good to be true. Naturally, some of our clients are skeptical at first, and rightfully so. You have to be careful these days! But if you do a little bit of research you’ll find stories like the one by The Buffalo News about foreclosure overages, where everyday people were successfully able to recover thousands of dollars. When you dig deeper, you’ll find that this is real, and it’s happening all over the country.
Millions of dollars are being held by county and state governments all over the country, waiting to be claimed by the rightful owners. We guide our clients through the process, explaining everything in detail so that it’s all transparent. There are no up front costs to the client, and absolutely no risk. We only get paid if we successfully recover the funds for the client. We hope to have the opportunity to serve you!

Also called overage funds or Surplus funds. It is funds left over from a tax foreclosure sale.
Yes it is legal. State owe millions back in excess funds but get to keep it if not claimed.
Countys do send a letter but it uselly never finds its way to the previous owner (You). The letter is sent to the foreclosed address. If someone already moved then how will the know? After that the county or state has no obligation to track you down. That's were we come in.
Most companies charge as much as 50% of your unclaimed money as a retrieval fee. We do not charge any upfront costs or out of pocket expenses. We only get paid after we recover your funds. We only charge a 30% commission on any money we get for you.
